Abstract：【Objective]Foralong time，the breeding goal ofcrabapple has mainlycenteredonthe flower traits，while its fruit ornamentalvalue has beenoverlooked.Toemphasize thefruit ornamental valueof crabapple，we conducted experimental studies on the fruit Malus ofspring like‘Swee Sugartyme’and other crabapples.The aim was to explore the phenotypiccharacteristicsofhalf-sibofspring andtheefectivenessof breeding.【Method】Basedonthe weighted hierarchicalanalysis method（AHP），acomprehensive evaluationsystem for theornamentalvalueof crabappleofspring was established from four phenotypic dimensions，namely fruit，flower，treeformand leaf.The focus was onclarifying thecharacteristicsof theoffspring intermsoffruitcolorandphenology.【Result】（1）Accordingtothefruitcoloratthe ripeningstage，thefruitcolorsof1OO singleplantsof theoffspringatmaturiycanbedivided into three categoriesand nine sub-categories.There are significantdiferences in theornamental value offruit colors at maturityamong crabapple 收稿日期Received：2024-12-30 修回日期Accepted：2025-03-25 基金项目：江苏省自然科学基金项目（BK20220751）；国家自然科学基金青年项目（32201618）；扬州市科技计划项目（YZ2022044）。（剩余20187字）
