PENG Peichu's Experience in Treating Mucosal Lesions Based on Theory of “Pathogenic Factors Accumulating in Sanjiao，Dysfunction in Acting as a Pivot"

AbstractProfessorPENG Peichu differentiatesand treats mucosal lesions based onthe theory of“pathogenicfactorsaccumulating in Sanjiao anddysfunction in acting asa pivot".He believes that the mucosa issimilartothe functionsof Sanjiao in termsofdistribution，protectionof the body，andmaintenanceof metabolicprocesses，andissimilarto thefunctionof theShaoyang in protecting the bodyand communicating between the inside and outside.Once the diet isnot balanced，causing pathogenic factors to accumulate in Sanjiaoand internal damp-heatobstruction，oremotional distress leading toliverandgalbladderstagnation and dysfunction of the Shaoyang pivot，all of which can lead to the occurrence of mucosal lesions.Based onthis，the basic pathogenesis ofmucosal lesionsis summarized as“pathogenic factors accumulating in Sanjiao and dysfunction in acting asa pivot".In treatment，the principle of“clearing heat，promoting diuresis，unblocking Sanjiao，soothing the liver and gallbladder，and harmonizingthepivot”is followed， anda Nianmo Formula（黏膜方）isprescribed to achieve the effects of harmonizing the Shaoyang， clearing heat and promoting diuresis，and unblockingthe bowelsand eliminating turbidity.It hasachieved remarkable resultsinthe treatment of mucosal lesions such aschronic atrophic gastritis，oral ulcers，and bladder cancer，with a prospect of providing inspiration for the diagnosis and treatment of mucosal lesions.
