Exploration on Correlation between “Spleen Acting as the Protector of the Body”and Tumor Immunity from Perspective of Intestinal Mucosal Immune Homeostasis

AbstractThe pathogenesis of tumors is very complex.Modern research suggests that their occurrence and developmentarecloselyrelated to the immune functionof the body.Regulating thefunctionof the immune system is a key approach of tumorpreventionand treatment.Intestinal mucosal immunity is animportant component of the immune system，which can affct the prognosis of diseases and intervene in the therapeutic effctTraditional Chinese medicine（TCM）holdsthat“spleen acting as the protector of the body”， which isa highly summarized description of the spleen’sdefense function through the mediumof defensive qi.Theimmune siteof theintestinal mucosa islocated in thelintestine，andits function belongs to the spleen，which is highly consistent with the theory in TCM that“spleen acting as the protectorof the body". Theimbalance of intestinal mucosal immune homeostasis is similar tothe pathological transformation processof“spleen acting as the protector of the body-the spleen failing to act as theprotector of the body” and“the spleen failing to act asthe protector of the body” may be the mechanism of tumor occurrence in TCM. This article takes“spleen acting as the protector of the body” asthe entrypoint to explore the correlationand clinical application between the imbalance of intestinal mucosal immune homeostasisin tumorsand“thespleen failing to actasthe protector of the body”，inorderto providea theoretical basis for thepreventionand treatment of tumors from the perspective of“treating the spleen and regulating the protector of the body”to restore intestinal mucosal immune homeostasis.
