ABSTRACTOBJECTIVEToevaluatethequalityof Euscaphis japonica fromdiferent habitats.METHODSTherelative correctinfactorsofgallcacid,protocatechuicacid,elagicacid,isoquercitrin,astragalinandapigeninwerecalculatedwith quercetias theinternalreference;therelativecorrction factorsofeuscaphicacid,oleanolicacid,stigmasteroland β -sitosterol werealsocalculatedwithursolicacidastheinternalreference.Thecontentsof12componentsin18batchesofsampleswere calculatedbyQAMSmethodandwerecomparedwithexternalstandardmethod.Atthesametime,thecontentsofwater-soluble extract,alcohol-soluble extract,total ash and acid-insoluble ash were detected.The quality of E :japonica was evaluated by principalcomponentanalysis(PCA),orthogonalpartialleastsquares-discriminantanalysis(OPS-DA),andweightedtechnique fororderpreference bysimilaritytoidealsolution(TOPSIS)method.RESULTSTherewas no significant diferencebetweenthe resultsofQAMSmethodandexteralstandardmethodforthe12componentsinthe18batchesofsamples.However,notable content variations were observed among diferent batchesof samples.Theresultsof PCAand OPLS-DAshowedthat S1-S7,S8- S12,andS13-S18wereclustered intoonecategoryrespectively.Sevenkeycharacteristiccomponentsvariableimportancein projection values >1 ,euscaphic acid,ursolic acid,protocatechuic acid,apigenin, β -sitosterol, isoquercitrin,and oleanolic acid, respectively.Theanalysisresultsofthe weightedTOPSIS methodrevealedthattherelativeclosenessforevaluating thequalityof18 batches of samples ranged from 0.283 5 to 0.644 1,with the samples of E japonica from Fengjie,Chongqing,demonstrating the highestquality.CONCLUSIONS Theestablished methodisaccurateandfeasible,whichcanbeused forthequalityevaluationof E. japonica combined with chemometricsand weighted TOPSIS model.
