Development and examination of digital literacy scale for primary and secondary physical education teachers under the background of educational digitization

Abstract:To developthe scale of physical education teachers'digitaliteracyin primaryandsecondary schools,and torealizethequantitativeevaluationforphysical educationteachers'digital literacy.Basedontheevaluation framework in theeducation industry standard "Teachers'Digital Literacy" issued bythe Ministry of Education, the initial scaleof physical education teachers'digital literacy was developedby using the methods ofliterature,Delphi expert survey, and mathematical statistics.A convenient sampling method was used to select 5OO primary and secondary school physical education teachers (sample1) toperform project analysis and exploratory factor analysis. A total of 413 primary and secondary school physical education teachers (sample 2) were selected for confirmatory factor analysisand reliabilityandvalidity test.Resultsshowed that the digital literacy scalefor primary and secondary physical education teachers consisted of5sub-scales including digital consciousnes,digital technology knowledge and skils,digital application,digital social responsibilityand professional development, withatotalof 41 items. The second-order five-factor structure model had good fit indexes Q2/df=3.676 ,RMSEA -0.067 , AGFI=0.911, CFI-0.913, TLI=0.915 ,RMR =0.01 3).The internal consistencycoefficient of thisscaleis O.981,and the internalconsistency coeficient of the five sub-scales is between 0.933and 0.951,the mean variance extraction AVE of the five sub-scales is between 0.550 and 0.628,and the combined reliability CR is between 0.855 and 0.930. Theconclusion is that thedigital literacyscaleof primaryand secondary physical education teachers is scientific and reliable,and can be used as an effective tool to measure the digital literacy ofthese groups in China.
