Classification and interpretation of Nansha Genglu in Liang Qirui Genglubu

Abstract：The two chapters of Liang Qirui Genglubu，“Donghai to Beihai Genglu” and “Shangdongtou Line Genglu"，record 154 Nansha Islands items，which can be categorized into three types： 4 items of connecting Xisha and Nansha Islands，149 items of between the islands and reefs in Nansha Qundao， and l item of from the Nansha Islands to overseas. This study analyzes key items through textual comparisons and archival research，with a focus on the spatial distribution of three operational routes （eastern/western/southern） in Category II. Findings indicate that the Nansha routes in Liang Qirui's Genglubu form a three-tiered network around five atolls，enabling Hainan fishermen to sustainably harvest marine resources while integrating fishing production with internal and external trade.
