Investigation on current situation of fish resources in Xiaolongshan forest region

Abstract：A systematic investigation was conducted on the current status and conservation challenges of fish re sources in the Xiaolongshan forest region. Through standardized sampling methods including netting，angling， market purchases，and interviews with local residents，anglers，and wildlife protection authorities，6l fish species were documented，belonging to 1 class，5 orders，6 families，and 46 genera. Cypriniformes dominated（57 species， 93.44% ），while Salmoniformes，Synbranchiformes，Perciformes，and Siluriformes each comprised 1 species （1.64% .The community consisted primarily of small一sized fish with pronounced seasonal dynamics，showing peak species richness and biomass in late summer/early autumn and minimal levels in winter/spring. Spatial analysis revealed northern areas and the Wei River Basin had lower diversity compared to southern zones and the Jialing River Basin.Key conservation concerns include widespread but low一density populations and severe habitatfragmentation，highlighting the need for targeted management strategies in this ecologicallysignificantregion.
