Essence of Professor WANG Xingkuan's experience in treating renal hypertension

[Abstract]Renal hypertensionisoneofthemostcommoncomplicationsofchronickidneydisease.Professor WANG Xingkuan,anationalfamousTCMpractitioner,holdstheviewthatthecorepathogenesisofrenalhypertensionliesinkidney esenceadqidefiencyimpaidtrasformationofwater-dampness,losofteidneysfunctioinsealingandstoingtreby leadingtothesubtleleakageofessenceandnutrients.Overtime,thisconditionprogresss toprofounddeficiencyofkidneyYuanprimordialqi,thegenerationofendogenous"urinetoxins",failureofkidney(water)tonourishtheliver(wood),andsubsequent hyperactivityofliveryang.Clincallpatientswithenalhypertensionoftenfacechallengesinachevingbloodpressurecotroldue tofactorssuchassodiumandwaterretention,which makeitdificulttosubmerge hyperactiveyang,andtheimpairmentof drug eficacycausedbykidneyYuan-primordialqideficiency.Drawinginspirationfromtheprofoundprincipleof"kidney(Yiandliver (Gui)sharingacommonsource",ProfesorWANGexelsineapproachof"regulatingmultiplerganshamoiously".Foerot cause,hetonifisteidneytoourishteliver(wod,soothestelivertosubmergeitshyperactivityandsrengtenstesple torestraiwater-dampness;forthemanifestations,hefocusesonclearinganddrainingurinetoxins,eliminatingphlegm,and circulatingbloodasthekeystrategies.Meanwhile,heemphasizes"microscopicdiferentiationofdiseasesandpaterns", incorporatingmodemlaboratoryandphysicalexaminationindicatorsintothepatemidentificationsystemof"inferinghenteal fromtheexternal,therebyachievingtheefctsofsothingthe liverandsubmergingyangthroughacomprehensiveappoachthat addressesboththerotandthemanifestationsandharmonizesyinandyang.Aftersixdecadesofclinicalverification,Professor WANGXingkuan hasdevelopedadiagnosticandtherapeuticsystem thatintegratesclasicalTCMtheorieswithmodernmedical knowledge.Thissystemhasdemonstratedremarkableeficacyandistheoreticallywell-foundedinclinicalpractice,providingan exemplarymodelforcombiningclasicalTCMthinkingwithmodernmedicalpracticeinthediagnosisandtreatmentofrenal hypertension.
