ControlEfficacy of Different Herbicide Combinations on Weeds in Direct-Seeding Rice Fields

Abstract:Toenhanceherbicideresistance managementandidentifyeffcientandsafeherbicidecombinationsindouble-croppingrice regionsofHunanProvince,thisstudyselected28herbicidestargetingfourmajorpaddyweeds (Echinochloacrusgall,Leptohloa chinensis,Cyperusdfomis,andonochoriavaginalis).FeldefcacytrialsereconductedinunuaTownangshoty adoptingaphasedapplicationstrategycombining pre-emergence herbicidesandpost-emergenceherbicides.Thirteenherbicide combinationsandablankcontrol group(CK)wereestablished.Weedcontroleficacywasevaluatedondaylbeforeanddays20 and35after thesecondapplication(DAT),withsimultaneousassessmentofricesafetyTheresultsdemonstratedthattreatments T1 and T7 achieved the fresh weight control efficacy >90% against all the four weeds during20-35DAT,with T1 showing the optimal performance. Treatment T6 provided the control efficacy >93% against L . chinensis, C.difformis,and M. vaginalis during 20-35DAT but exhibited insufficient persistence against E crus-galli ‰ at 35 DAT). Treatments T11-T13 delivered poor control against all the weed species.In conclusion, the T1 combination demonstrated the highest control efficacy, while T6 and T7 also performed effectively. Rotationalcombinations ofherbicides with distinct mechanisms of action arerecommended for enhancing comprehensive wed management in direct-seeding rice fields.
