Preliminary Report on the Introduction and Selection Experiment of Buckwheatinthe Semi-arid RegionofGansu

Abstract：To identifybuckwheatvariety suitableforcultivationinthebuckwheat productionarea of HuiningCounty，enrich buckwheatvarietytypes，andpromotesustainabledevelopmentofthebuckwheatindustry，2Ointroducedbuckwheatvarietywere subjectedtoomparativeexperiment，andteirmajoragronomic traits，yield，andqualitywereanalyzedResultsshowedthatamong the10 sweetbuckwheat varieties，Dingtianqiao1hadthe highestyieldof979.6kg/ha，which was 40.31% higher than the average yieldofthetestedswetbuckwheatvariety.Itssingle-plantgraiweight（5.83g），rudeproteincontent（56.13g/kg）ndtotal flavonoid content（ 5.56mg/g ）wereall the highest among the tested sweet buckwheat variety.Among the 1O tartary buckwheat varieties，Dinkuqiao1 had the highestyield of1 861.5 kg/ha， 89.10% higher than the average of the tested tartary buckwheat varieties.Itsplantheight（9.9cm）andumberofmainstemnodes（22.8）werethehighest，itsbranchumber（19.0），singleplant grain weight（7.75 g），and total flavonoid content （ 27.63mg/g ）werealso relatively high.Datian1and Yuntian1 had good overall traitsandrelativelyighyielsof845.5and633.4kg/a，espectively.Datian1showedightotalfvonoidconent（426g/gnd etherextractcotent（2.96g/kg），anditstousadgranweight（41.86g）wassignificantlyhgherthanothrtestedswetbuckat varieties.Yuntian 1 had a higher starch content （795.67mg/g） than other tested tartary buckwheat varieties and relatively high crude protein content 166.43g/kg） .Inconclusion，Dintianqiao 1and Dinkuqiao1 can berecommendedas preferredvariety for demonstrationand promotioninthetemperatesemi-aridregionofGansuandsimilarecological zones.Datian1canbeusedasa large-grain specialized type，and Yuntian1asa high-starch specialized type for promotion in the same regions.
