Breeding Report onthe New Hulless Barley Line Longke 2with CharacteristicsofDouble High in GrainandForageProduction

Abstract:Thedevelopmentof suitable huless barleyvarietyprovides strong support for the diversificationandgreen developmentofthebarleyindustry.UsingKunlun3asthefemaleparentandBai4O29asthemaleparent,theHullessBarley ResearchGroupof theIntuteofEconomicCropsandMaltingBarley,GansuAcademyofAgriculturalSciences,developedahbrid combinationandappliedtraditionalbreedingcombined withmodern biobreeding methodssuchasantherculture.Afteryearsofffseasongenerationadvancementbetweesouthernandnorthernregions,anewhiggrainandforagehulessbarleyline,Longke2, wasbred.Multi-yearandmulti-locationregionalexperimentsshowedthatLongke2hadanaverageequivalentgrainyieldof 5161.1 kg/ha, 9.56% higherthanthecontrolvarietyLongqing1.Itsaveragebiological yieldduringthefilingstagereached72270.3 kg/ha, (20号 43.73% higherthan thecontrolGansimai1.Thelineexhibitsexcellentyieldstabilityand highyieldpotential.Grainqualityis superior, containing 127.7 g/kg crude protein, 439.3 g/kg crude starch,and 28.3g/kg ether extract,levels of amino acid, β-glucan, andpolyphenolaresgnificantlyigerthantoseofcommonhullssarleyandcerealforage.Itissuitableforultivationille barley production areas at altitudes of 1 6OO to 2 80O m asl.
