Abstract： This paper investigates the operational profiles of a wind farm service vessel. Based on the specific requirements for its main propulsion system， we analyze the adaptability of three types of propulsion systems for this vessel class.A configuration featuring controllable-pitch propellrs with V-type gearboxes is proposed， which effectively addresses both the spatial constraints of main propulsion system arrangement in compact engine rooms and the operational demands for high-speed navigation and low-speed pushing during wind turbine maintenance operations..
