Construction Risk Analysis and Mitigation Measures for the Decommissioned Zhanjiang Warship Placement Project

Abstract： The decommissioned Zhanjiang Warship placement project is the world's first offshore mooring project for an unpowered vessel in a coastal typhoon-prone area，designed to withstand Category 17 typhoons and achieve a 40-year service lifespan.This paper analyzes construction risks and proposes mitigation measures for key phases，including structuralreinforcement modifcations beneath thedeck，instalationofdeckequipment，fabrication and driving of anchor piles，ballast and anchor chain installation，towing the vessel through shallow and narrow chanels into the harborbasin，and final mooring operations.The findings oferreferences and insights forsimilar offshore mooring projects.
