Design of Contaminated Oily Water Collection and Treatment System for Drilling System of a Drilling Ship

Abstract： During operations of a drilling ship's driling system， contaminated oily wastewater containing mud slurry that emits hazardous gases is generated.This wastewater difers significantly from conventional shipborne oily water in composition，requiring specialized collction and treatment systems to ensure operational safety and compliance with environmental regulations.This paper presents a system design featuring independent oily wastewater collction systems for hazardous and non-hazardous zones，coupled with dedicated oily water separators and mud solid particle treatment units.The solution effectively addresses challnges in handling gas-emittig mud residues while meeting stringent emission standards.
