Abstract：ThemultilingualinscriptionsintheDunhuangCavesreflectthecoexistenceandintegrationofmultipleethnic groupsthatoccurredinancientDunhuang.ItheinscriptionsleftbytheUighurpopulationintheegion，aninterestinghistorical eventisecorded，recountingthatinthethcenturyamonknamedAdityazen，aBuddistviaya-darafromBeshBalikisited Dunhuangand stayedthereforathre-month long Vassa（atypeof Buddhist monasticretreat during therainyseason）.He not onlyleft various inscriptions in UighurandBrahmiscriptinsideseveralcavesandtheCishi（Maitreya）Pagoda atMogao，healso inscribedpassagesandaUighuraliterativepoem incaves31and34atYulin.Thecontentofhiswritingstouchesonthehistory， polics，languages，ndreligionsofthemanyplaces hvisitedincludingDunang，Xizou（Qoo），BesBaliqandKotannd reflecttheculturalandreligiousinteractionbetweenthe UighuslivinginDunhuangandQoco.Inaddition，hiswitingalsopr vides valuable evidence for the study of the origin and development ofthe finearts in the two ancient cities.
