Abstract：To breednewpoplarvarieties withlarge growthvolume，strongadaptabilityandexcelent wood properties，this studyestablishescloneafforestation experimentsofSectionAigeiros indiferentsites，andthenconducts statisticalanalysis and adaptive evaluationof the survey data toscreen out superior clones.19 Section Aigeirosclones areselectedand comparativeclonaltestforestsareestablished inJuancheng County（Heze City），henxian County（LiaochengCity），Yishui County（Linyi City）of ShandongProvince.Bymeasuring the diameterat breast height （DBH），tree height，volume，and crownwidthof 6-year-old treesofeachcloneinthethree testforests，variationanalysis，varianceanalysis，multiple comparisons，andadaptabilityevaluationarecariedouttoselectclones withcomprehensivelysuperiortraits.Theresults showthatthediffrences inalltraitsare extremelysignificantamong diffrentsitesandclones，withtherepeatabilityof each trait ranging from0.792to0.946.Through prncipalcomponentanalysisandadaptabilityevaluationofeachclone，this study screns out clones with large growth volume—1627，2215，1615and1065.Among them，clone 1627 exhibits strong growth adaptabilityandlarge growth volume，making itsuitable forpromotionandapplication inthepoplarcultivationareas in Shandong Province.In 2024， clone 1627 is oficially named 'Huaxiong 4'（Populus × euramericana） and arpprovedby the Shandong Provincial Forest Tree Variety Approval Committee.
