Abstract:Aluminum skin-honeycomb sandwich structure,characterized byits lightweightand highload-bearing capacity,hasfoundextensiveapplicationinairraftstructures,particularlyinhelicopterconstruction.However,duetotherelativelythinouterskinofthesandwich structure,impactfrom foreignobjectscanleadtodentdefectsanddelaminationbetweentheskinandcore,potentiallycompromisingstructuralstrengthandstiffess.Toinvestigatetheresponseofarealhelicopter aluminum skin-honeycomb sandwich structureunderdiffrent impact energies,drop-weight impact tests were conducted.Basedon experimentaldata regarding dentdepthanddelaminationarea,suitable curvesand equations were established with highgoodness-of-fit:animpact energy-dentdepth curveandanimpactenergy-delaminationarea equation.Usingthescurves,theactualdentdepth was inverselyanalyzed to estimatethe impact energy,enablinganassessmentof structural performance based on the determined impact energy
