Research on automatic mold-closing technology for stringer molding of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin composites

Abstract:Aimingatthekeyproblemsoflowpositioning accuracy,dificult adjustmentandloweficiency inthe manual mold-closing of mandrels during the stringermolding ofcarbon fiberreinforced epoxyresincomposites,this paper proposes asystematic solution.Firstly,byanalyzingandotimizing the mold-closing processflow,theautomaticcontrolofsomeprocesses is realized.Secondly,an innovative automatic flippng mold-closing devicewith a modularstructure isdesigned; basedonfiniteelementanalysis,thestrengthandstfnessoftheclamping modulearesystematicallyoptimized,enabling it to achieveaccurate positioningand stable clampingof mandrelsofvarious specificationsunderboth horizontalandvertical working conditions.Intermsof thecontrolmethod,atechnicalschemecombiningautomaticdrivingand micro-adjustment attheendisadopted.Whileensuring thesimplestructureofthedevice,itsuccessfullyrealizes theintegrateddesignof multi-egree-of-freedomposture adjustmentfunctionssuchasmandrellfting,closingandflipping.Inaddition,this study introduces afloating platformmechanismwithtwo-dimensionaladjustmentfunction,whicheffctivelycompensates forthe mandrel placementdeviation,ensures therealizationofone-timeaccuratemold-closing,andsignificantlyimproves heautomation level and production efficiency of the composite stringer molding process.
