Significance， Challenges and Enhancement Paths of National Defense Education in Application-oriented Universities

Abstract：National defenseeducation for university students isan important safeguard for national security and development，which plays an esential role in cultivating a new generation of young people capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation. Currently，the world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century， characterized by volatileshifts in global military dynamicsand therapid advancement of artificial inteligence technology.These developmentspresent national defense education with unprecedented challenges，demands， imperatives，and tests.Facing emerging domestic and international circumstances，application-oriented universities still exhibit deficiencies in their national defense education systems concerning content structure， pedagogical formats，and faculty capabilities.Through systematic analysis，this study proposes strategic pathways to enhance the quality and efectivenessof national defense education in application-oriented universities， including optimizing top-level design frameworks，innovating educational approachesthrough technological integration，strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration mechanisms，andrefining comprehensiveevaluation systems.
