Analysis of potential categories and influencing factors of vocational maturity of nursing freshmen in higher vocational colleges

Abstract:Objective:Toexplorethepotentialcategoriesof vocationalnursing freshmen'socupational maturityand analyze the characteristics andinfluencingfactorsofdiferentcategoriesof population.Methods: In Mayand June 2024, atotalof667nursing freshmenfrom TonglingPolytechnicwereselected byclustersampling methodastheresearch objects,and the general information survey form,thecoreself-evaluation scale,thegrowth mindset scaleand he occupational maturityscalewereusedfor investigation.Thepotentialprofileanalysisandtheunorderedmultinomial logisticregression analysis were used.Results :The occupational maturity of vocational nursing freshmen could be divided into three categories,respectively defined as:occupational autonomy orientation (10.4% ),occupational cognition orientation ( 70.6% )andoccupational maturity orientation(19 % ).The regression analysis results ofLogistics showed that whetherone had participated in social practice intheir major,growth mindset,and core self-evaluation were he potential influencing factors of the career maturity profile of vocational nursing freshmen( P<0.05 ).Conclusion:There isheterogeneityinthevocationalmaturityofnewnursing students inhigher vocationaleducation,whichcanbedivided intothree profiles:vocationalautonomy,vocationalcognition,andvocational maturityWhethertheyhaveparticipatedin social practice,growth mindset,andcoreself-evaluationintheir majoraretheinfluencingfactorsfortheclassficationof vocational maturityof new nursing students in higher vocational education.Nursing educators can provide personalized and precise vocational education tonew vocational nursing studentsasearlyas posible upon enrollment,helping them developtheircareers.
