Analysis of monitoring resultsofVibrio cholerae in aquatic products and water bodies in Ganzhou from 2O17 to 2024

Abstract:Objective:ToinvestigatethecontaminationofVibriocholeraeinaquaticproductsandwaterbodiesin Ganzhou,analyze their serum groupsand virulencegenes,and provide scientific significance for cholera outbreak preventionandcontrolin theregion.Methods:InApriltoOctoberofeachyearfrom2O17to2024,werandomlyselected seafood products from designated seafoodrestaurantsand supermarkets in Ganzhou,andcollcted water samples fromthe Zhangjiang Riveratdesignatedlocations.Isolationand identificationof Vibriocholerae werecarriedout,andserumgroup and virulence gene testingonpositive isolated strains wereconducted.Results:From2017to2O24,atotalof1919 specimensof6types were colected.Outof1919 specimens,48 were found tocontain Vibrio cholerae,with a total detection rate of 2.50% ;among them,1133 aquatic products were monitored with a detection rate of 3.35 % (38/1 133), and 786 Zhangjiang water bodies were monitored with a detection rate of 1.27 % (10/786);the detection rate was highest in May ( 4,90% ,15/306),none was detected in August,and Vibrio cholerae was detected in all other months.The detectionrates of frogs,crustaceans,fish,and bivalveswere12.39 % ,5.73%, 2,08% ,and 0.67% ,respectively, whileturtlesandturtleswerenotdetectedwithVibriocholerae.Amogthe48strainsidentified,29strainswereclassifid as O1 Ogawa type,18 strains were clasified as O1 riceleaf type,1 strain was classfiedas O139 type,no Hikishima type strainwas found.All strains tested were negativeforthecholer toxin gene ctxAB.Conclusion:There iscontaminationof O1andO139Vibriocholeraeintheaquatic productssold in Ganzhouand in thewater environment.Therefore,it is recommendedtoincreasemonitoringeffrts,keepabreastofthepolutionsituationof Vibriocholerae,detectthesourceof cholera epidemicas earlyaspossble,and take effective measures timely.
