Application of UAV and ArcGIS technology in forest resource management

AbstractThis paper systematically elaborated on the core characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles (including their definition,classfication,and payload capacity)and geographic informationsystem(GIS)technology (taking ArcGIS asan example,such as itsdefinitionand dataacquisition functions).Meanwhile,itconducted research from the perspectives ofapplication scenarios,colaborative practices, existing problems,and optimization strategies.UAVs exert advantages ineficientoperations in4 majorfieldsofforestrynamely forestsurveyand monitoring,pestanddisease control,firepreventionandextinguishing,andaforestationandrnewal.ArcGISsoftware,onthetherhand,provides spatial data processingand decisionsupport in forestry information management,resource protection,and forestry planningand management.The colaborative application of the2 technologies in scenariossuch as forest land area measurement andafforestation plotverification has significantlyimproved theefficiencyof forestry work and data accuracy.The study findsthat the current application of technology needs furtheroptimization in aspects such as the performance of hardware facilities,data colection,and the development of grassroots professional teams.Accordingly, optimization suggestions are put forward,such as upgrading hardware configurations,constructing a UAVdata sharing platform,andstrengtheningtheintroduction,cultivationof grassots talentsandskilstraining.Theresearchhowsthat theintegratedapplicationof UAVandArcGIS technologiesprovidesscientificand technological supportfor the sustainable utilization of forest resources,andalso ofers a reference for the promotion and application of new technologiesin the field of forestry.
