Effects of foliar application of silicon-containing water-soluble fertilizer on rice yield and lodging resistance

AbstractToverifytheapplicationeffectof silicon-containingwater-soluble fertilizeronrice,field plot experiments were conducted in Hexian County,Ma'anshan City(testsite1),and Xuanzhou District,Xuancheng City (test site2),both located in Anhui Province.3 treatments were designed: conventional fertilization + foliar application of silicon-containing water-soluble fertilizer 1OO mL/667 m2 (treatment 1), conventional fertilization + foliar application of anequal volumeof clear water (treatment2),andconventional fertilizationalone(treatment3).Theefectsofeach treatmentonrice agronomic traits,yield,and economicbenefits were systematicallycompared.Theresults showed that compared withtreatment3(conventionalfertilizationalone),treatment1increasedriceyieldby51kg/667m²withan increaserateof 8.4% and a net increased output value of 87.5 yuan/667 m² at the first experimental site.At the second experimental site,it increased yield by53kg/667 m2 withaincrease rate of 10.8% ,anet increased output value of 92.5yuan/667 m2.Inadition,compared with treatment 3,foliar application of silicon-containing water-soluble fertilizer in treatment1 also improved the stifnessof rice straw and enhanced lodging resistance.In conclusion,under theexperimental conditions,foliarapplicationof silicon-containing water-solublefertlizerexhibitedapotential yieldincreasing effect and favorable economic benefits on rice.
