Investigation and response strategies for abnormal growth of corn in Funan County

AbstractInresponse to theabnormal growth phenomena incorn planting in Funan County，Anhui Province，field investigations and analyses were conducted on some experimental sites inthe study area to investigate theabnormal phenomena such as hollow stalks，bald tips，flower grains，and missing grains during the growth processof corn.The investigation found thatabnormal climate，unreasonablesowingdate selection，xcessive plantingdensity，andpoorfield management are the main reasons for the abnormal growth phenomena ofcorn.Therefore，measures have been proposed to reduce the incidence of abnormal growth phenomena，such as selecting a suitable broadcasting date，planting reasonably，strengthening fertilizerandwatermanagement，comprehensivepreventionandcontrolofdiseasesandpests， implementing a combination of manual assisted pollination and small scale unmanned aerial vehicle assisted powder dispersal，andtimelylateharvesting.Thisarticle providesareferenceforimproving theyieldandoverallbenefitsofcorn cultivation.
