Cognitive status and influencing factors of college students towards subsyndromal depressive symptoms

【Abstract】Objective To investigate thecognitive statusand influencing factors of college students towards subsyndromal depressive symptoms.MethodsA cluster random sampling method was used to investigate 253 colege students enrolled in four coleges and universities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region using a general information questionnaire and acollge students' knowledge of subsyndromal depresson questionnaire.Results Among the 253 college students， 79.4% knew about subsyndromal depression and 43.5% had cognitive bias against subsyndromal depression.Theresultsof multiple linear regression analysis showed thatthe diferences between female college students，college students majoring in medicine，and college students in citiesand towns （counties） and the cognitive scores of subsyndromal depression were statistically significant （ β valuesof 0.20，0.19，and 0.12， respectively; all P<0.05 ）.Conclusion College students have a high knowledge rate of subsyndromal depression， butthe cognitivebiasofsubsyndromaldepressionisstillatahigh levelandthecognitive levelof subsyndromal depression is affcted by many factors.The whole society should popularize the knowledgeabout subsyndromal depression among college students，with a particular emphasis on enhancing their empathy for those with subsyndromal depressionandfostering theirown moralsense，inorderto promote themental health developmentof college students.
