Abstract:【Objective】Inordertoinvestigate thedroughtresistanceofwildCamelliaoleiferainhigh-altitudeareaand offeringscientificfoundationandtheoreticalreferencefordrought-resistantvarieties inhighaltitudeareas.【Method】We selected wildC.oleifera optimal leaffromWeiningCounty,BijieCity,GuizhouProvince,atanelevationof1998 meters astheexperimentalmaterial,determinationof indexesofC.oleifera leaf phenotype,anatomyandphysiology, descriptive and variance analysis and univariate analysis were used to analyze and display the basic data,correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the indexes,and the drought resistance of C oleiferawas comprehensively evaluated by membership function method and clusteranalysis method,and individual C⋅ oleiferaplants withstrongdroughtresistance werescreenedout.【Result】According tothe membership functionmethod,corelation analysisandclusteranalysis,fourtypicalindexesofleafarea,stomatalensity,leafthicknessandveinthicknsswere selected from22 indexes; 48C. oleifera were divided into 4 categories,and the main characteristicsof group1were that allthe idexes weregeneral,andtheoveralldroughtresistance was weak.Theleaf length,vein thicknesssponge tissue thickness,lowerepidermal thickness,PODactivityand totalchlorophyll contentof group2were verysmall while the drought resistance of this type of C oleifera wasgenerally not strong,and some of them were in the middle.Group 3 had onlyC.oleifera PT39,which was mainlycharacterizedbylarge vein thicknessandPODactivityandlowstomatal density.The fourth group hadonlyPT47,which was mainlycharacterized bylong leaves,high moisture content,lower epidermal thicknessand MDAcontent.However,certainplants withinthisgroup exhibitedabove-averageperformance across various indicators,with particularlyoutstanding keydroughtresistance metrics,thus demonstrating a generally strongdroughtresistance,ranking high.【Conclusion】Through thetypicalindexesofleafarea,stomataldensity,leaf thicknessandveinthickness,theaveragemembershipdegresoftheindices indicate the followingrankingofdrought resistance:PT47,PT38,PT46,PT39,PT42.
