Analysis of the International Technical Specification ISO/TS 14027：2017 Environmental labels and declarations - Development of product category rules

Abstract：Objective]Internationaltechncalspecifcationsprovideanefficientandconsistentprocedurefordevelopinghigh quality productcategoryrules（PCR），aimedatenhancingtheequivalenceofPCRuderstanding，coordination，and mutual recognition measures among stakeholdersand regions.[Methods] Based on theoretical research and practical experience of productcategoryruesatomeandroad，tispaperelaboratesontheprciples，ontent，viewentifcation，gstatio update，and revision process requirements for the formulation of product category rules.[Results] The development of productcategoryrulesisanessntialelementfororganizations tocarryoutTypeIenvironmentaldeclarationsasellasa prerequisiteand foundationforcommunicating environmentalinformationthroughout theproductlifecycleandimplementing environmentaldelaration plans.Folowingunified international technical specifications can help enhance theusefulness andreliabilityof PCRona global scale.[Conclusion] Organizations in China should develop productcategoryrules for various idustriesinaccordancewithinternational technicalspecificationstoensurethequalityonsistencydibility andtransparencyofPCR，reducerisksrelated toenvironmental dclarationsandfooprint informationcommunication，and effectively assist in achieving the“dual carbon” goals.
