Analysis of Differences in Technical Standards for E-cigarettes between China and Major Trading Countries

Abstract： [Objective]This paper analyzes the impact of the differences in technical standards of diferent countries on China's exportsand puts forward suggestions，providing reference fore-cigarete export enterprises.[Methods]This paper analyzes the differences in the technical standards related to e-cigaretes between China and the main trading countries for e-cigarete exports （the United States，the United Kingdom，and the European Union），andconducts a comparative study from aspects such as regulatory strategies，listing requirements，e-liquid chemical standards， atomization indicators，electromagneticcompatibility，baterysafetyregulations，and battery transportationsafety. [Results] China has developed thenational standard GB417oo-2022，E-cigaretes to define terms，specify design requirements，etc.，which isapplicable toe-cigaretes and theircomponents.The United States，ontheother hand， requires a Premarket Tobacco Application （PMTA）according to relevant acts，and manufacturers are required to submit health adsafety information，relyingonmultiple lawsandregulations asthe basis forsupervision.The United Kingdom andthe European Union respectivelyregulate the technical indicators of e-cigarettes in the form of regulations and directives.[Conclusion] There areobvious differences inthe technical standardsof e-cigaretes indiferentcountries， including diferences inthepurityofingredientrawmaterials，nicotinecontent，restrictionsonaditives，otherchemical standards，andatomization indicators.
