ABSTRACT: High temperature afects thereproductive development of organisms,and determines the survival or repro ductionof different species.Reproductive development includesallprocesses fromsexual mother cell genesis to maturationof femaleand male gametes,which depends on the process of meiosis.The meiosis includes thefirstand second meiotic divisions,termed meiosisIand meiosis ⅡI.Thisarticlewillsummarizetheinfluences of hightemperatureon meiosis and its molecular mechanisms,including efects:(1)ontheformationof double-stranded DNA break;(2)on the formation of synaptonemal complex and chromosome pairing;(3)on the generation of homologous recombination,(4)on the celldivision.Meiosis is an essential processfor ensuring genetic stabilityand diversityacross generations.Understanding the effcts of high temperatureon these processes willhelptoclarifythe adaptation and evolutionof different species under high temperature environments.
