Research on mold forming of automobile plastic trims based on CAE analysis

Abstract:Since automobile plastic trims are usually small in size and highly complex,mold design often leads to multiple mold repairs due to internal defects or unreasonable parameter settings. To this end, this paper takes the driving mode function key touch cover as the research object based on CAE analysis,3D modeling the appearance,determining the gate type,designing the cold well, optimizing the pouring system size and cooling system. It was found in the experiment that the solidification factor of the mold in this paper has completed the solidification of the gate melt after 2.5s ,and the solidification factor at this time is1,and the gate solidification effect is good. The pouring time, shear rate,and filling rate of the mold are 1.19s , 4×105S-1 ,and 98.99% ,respectively,which are the most ideal among all the comparison methods. The temperature difference between the northwest direction of the function key touch cover and the southeast direction of is 7% ,and there will be no warping phenomenon,which can reduce the mold design time,improve product quality and increase productivity for manufacturing companies.
