Abstract Lycium barbarum，asan important economic crop，the preventionandcontrol of its diseases and pests is of vitalimportancetoensuringtheyieldandqualityoftheproduct.Althoughchemicalpesticideshavearemarkableeffect on the prevention and controlof pests and diseases，their excesive application has caused many environmental and health problems.Inrecent years，plant essential oilshave attracted attentionasapotential biopesticidedue to their environmental friendliness，low toxicityand effectiveness.The application prospects of plant essential oils in the prevention and control of diseases and pests of Lycium barbarum are reviewed，especiall the research progress of essentialoilsof Artemisia.The keyrolesplayed bythe main chemical componentsof plant essential oils，suchas monoterpenes，sesquiterpenes and phenolic compounds，in the preventionand controlof plant diseases and pests were studiedandanalyzed.Furthermore，theroleof microcapsule technology inenhancing thestabilityand persistenceof plant essentialoilsdemonstrates howthis technologycanimprove thepracticalapplication efectofessntialoils in the fieldby protecting their activecomponentsand controlling theirrelease.Inresponse tothe demandforpestand disease managementof Lycium barbarum，theapplicationand potential of Artemisiaessentialoils in biological controlare analyzed.Theirremarkableantibacterial，insecticidalandrepellent efectsareanimportantpartoffuturegreencontrol technology.Toachieve the environmental protectionandsustainabledevelopmentof the Lyciumbarbarum industry，the development of comprehensive pest and disease management strategies should include in-depth research and further development of plant essential oils.
