Abstract Rare and endangered forest tree germplasm resources are an important part of forest tree germplasm resources.The investigation andresearch on forest tree germplasm resources in Ningxia lags behind，andtheinventory of rareand endangered forest tree resources isunclear，whichafects theprocessof protectionandrescueof various rareand endangered tree speciesas well as the development and utilizationof high-qualityseed resources.Through the investigationof thedistributionrangeof rareand endangeredwild foresttreegermplasmresources inNingxia （including national protected tree species and wild forest treegermplasm resources of extremelysmall populations in Ningxia），a preliminaryunderstandingof 52speciesand5varietiesbelongingto38generaand31familiesofrareand endangered wild forest tre germplasmresources in Ningxia has been obtained，among which 2O species belonging to 16 genera and 15families are national protected tree species，32 species and 5 varieties belonging to 26 genera and 21 families are treespecies of extremelysmallpopulations in Ningxia，providing ascientific basis fortheir protectionand utilization.
