Abstract:ThecowmanureproductionintheErhaiLakebasinishighandaerobiccompostigrepresentsanefectivepathwayforits resourceutilizationIntheErhaiLakeBasin,processngby-productssuchastobaccopowder(T)andbagass(B)arecommonlyusedas composting bulkingagentsforhigh-moisture materialslikedairycowmanure.However,thesynergisticefectsof teircombineduseon odoremissoncontrolandhumificationduringcowmanurecompostingrequirefurtherevaluation.Thisudyconductedaerobiccomposting for 35 days using 80 % (wet weight) cow manure as the main material,with additions of 20% T,15%T+5%B, 10% T +10% B, 5% T +15% B, and 20% B,respectively.Theresults indicatedthatasthe proportionofbagasseincreased,theheatingrateandpeak temperaturerose,but thiswasdetrimentaltointainghghemperatures.Coveselysteproportioofobacoodericeasd,tedgati (20 index(GI) and humus content decreased, while ammonia( NH3 )andhydrogen sulfide( H2S )emissions increased,and the total nutrient content gradually rose.Compared to the treatments with 5% T +15% B and 20% B,the treatment with 10% T +10% B exhibited an increase in high-temperaturedurationby3and4daysrespectivelyandanincreaseiotalrientcontenby2.6%and2.5%,espctiely Furthermore,compared to the treatmentswith and 20% T,thetreatmentwith10%T +10%F 3reducedNH3 emissionsby 60.5% and 67.5% ,respectively,andH2Semissionsby 82.5% and 87.9% ,respectively.Additionally,the treatmentwith 10%T+10%] Bachieved the highest seed germination index (GI) value of 132.8% andahumus-to-fulvate ratio of O.9.Therefore, the combined proportion of 10% tobacco powder and 10% bagasse can promote odor reduction and enhance humification during aerobic composting of cow manure.
