Abstract:AcordingtoCIDASdata,ininvestigatedaccdentsinvolvingcasualties,incidentsrelatedtovulnerableroadusers (VRU)accountforoverhalfofthetotal.Toestablishanautomaticemergencybrakingsystemwith VRUresponsecapabities(AEBSVRU)testing methodology,thispaper proposes anevaluationframework,performance thresholds,andtestprocedures basedonChina-specificacidntcharacteristics,techicalprciples,anddomestic/inteatioalregulatorystandards.stesultsindicatethatu rentvehiclesystemsdemonstratesatisfactoryrsponsiveness topedestranandbicyletrgetsbutexhibitpoorperformanceindetecting motor-scooter target.Furtheranalysisshosthatheinabilitytoquicklyperceivehig-spdtargetsandprovidestabledeelerationis the main reason for poor response capability.
