Research on the Sales Improvement of Japanese Tea During the Meiji Period

Abstract: During the Meiji period,the Japan's tea industryunderwent multifaceted improvements under the government promotion,particularlyinthesalessector.Inresponse to various chalenges in teasales,Japan implementedcorresponding measures toenhance the industry.Onone hand,thecountrystrived toreduce itsrelianceon foreign merchants and pursueautonomyinthe teatrade.Ontheotherhand,itenhancedtheinternationalcompetitivenessofits tea by inovating itsmarketingsystemand restructuring its transportation system.Thesales reforms propelled the development of Japan's tea trade and influenced the global tea trade landscape,with China later adopting themas a model.
