Effects of Tea Seed Cake Fertilizer Application on the Physiological Characteristics of Tea Plants

Abstract: In this study,tea cultivar'JinchaNo.1'was used toexplore theefectsofsingle-plant applications of tea seed cake fertilizers (TSCF) at concentrations of 0,20o, 400,and 600g on the physiological characteristics of tea plants.The results demonstrate that increasing TSCF dosages significantly enhanced morphological parameters,including the fixed leaf weight,leaf length,leaf width,leafarea and1O0 bud weight.However,there wasno significant difference between the dosage of 400g and 600g .The photosynthetic physiological indicators of tea plants such as photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, and intercellular CO2 concentration showed dose-dependent increases,consistent with elevated chlorophylland nitrogen contents.These findings suggest that TSCF application within appropriateconcentrations improved photosynthestic eficiencyof tea plants.Simultaneously,biochemical constituents in tea leaves including water-extractable substances,tea polyphenols,catechins,flavonoids,and free amino acids were increased along with higher TSCF dosages.However,no significant diffrences were observed among the dosage of 200, 400 and 600g .To sum up, the contents of chemical components in tea leaves could be improved bydifferent TSCFconcentrations.
