Abstract:Bonding defects is the fundamental reason that leads to thefall of the decorative surface layerof building exterior walland is easy to lead to safety hazard. A new non-destructive testing technique based on the variation of vibration acceleration amplitude to identify whether the decorative surface layer has bonding defects was proposed.The test scheme under diferent bonding defects conditions was designed.The effect and variation patern of the area of empty drum and the changes between exciting position and picking position on the vibration acceleration amplitude were studied.The results show that the variation of vibration acceleration amplitude of the decorative surface layer is sensitive to bonding defects,and by comparing the vibration acceleration amplitude between empty drum of different area and non-empty drum areas,the maximum of augmentation rate of vibration acceleration amplitude is 532% . Under the same conditions, the vibration acceleration amplitude increases with the increase of the area of empty drum,and decreases with the increase of the distance between exciting position and picking position, the pickup point moves gradually from the center of empty drum to the edge of empty drum, the vibration acceleration amplitude decreases graduall,and the pickup point is located in the region of empty drum or the edge of empty drum,the measured vibration acceleration amplitude will increase significantly compared with that of the region of non-empty drum. Therefore,as long as the picking position is located in the region of empty drum, the existence ofempty drum canbe detected by thevariationof accelerationamplitude.The feasibilityof this method isverified by the actual engineering test on the spot, and the research results provide a new technical way for non-destructive detection and evaluation of the shedding risk of architectural decorative surface layer.
