[Abstract]Bipolar disorder （BD）is a chronic mental illness characterized by alternating episodes of mood swings，mania and depresion.Patients often have significant sleep disorders during the course of the disease.Due to the differences in attack types，disease course characteristics and neurobiological mechanisms，there are significant diffrences in sleep characteristics between patients with type BD-I and those with type BD-II. Such differences notonlyafect theemotional regulation and cognitive function of patients，but mayalsobeclosely related to the risk of disease recurrenceand treatment effct.Therefore，accurately identifying and understanding the differences in sleep characteristics between patients with type BD-I and those with type BD- is of great significance for optimizing the treatment strategies ofpatients with diffrentsubtypes.Based onthis，this studysystematicall sorted outthe differences in sleep parameters such as the duration，latency and proportion of rapid eye movement （REM） sleep，the duration and proportion of deep sleep，as wellas the number of micro-awakenings and awakening index between patients with type BD-Iand type BD-II，and explored the influenceof these sleepcharacteristics on the pathological mechanism and clinical intervention.
