Comparison the Effect Ultrasound-guided Radial Artery Catheterization at Different Puncture Sites in Critical Patients/LIU Dan,PENGRong,LI Shuzhen,LIU Boyu.// , 2025,22(20): 077-081

[Abstract] Objective:To compare the efects ultrasound-guided radial artery catheterization at the wrist and the middle forearm,and to evaluate the feasibility ultrasound-guided radialarterycatheterization at the middle forearmasasubstitute forradial arterycatheterizationatthe wrist.Method:A total1OO patients admitted to the emergency intensive care unit Shenzhen Guangming District People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2O22 were included.They were divided into the middle forearm group and the wrist group according to different puncture sites,with 5O cases in each group.Patients in the midle forearm group and the wrist group received ultrasound-guided radial artery catheterization at the middle forearmand the wrist levels respectively.The time-consuming radial artery puncture,the success rate the first puncture,the total success rate puncture, the average puncture timesand the incidence complications were recorded and compared between the two groups. Result:The time-consuming radial artery puncture inthe middle forearm group was shorterthan thatin the wrist group,thesuccess rate the firstpuncturewas higher than thatinthe wrist group,andthe average puncture times wasless than that in the wrist group( P <0.05).No ischemic necrosis at the distal puncture site and infection at the puncture site occurred in both group.The incidence hematoma at the puncture site in the middle forearm group waslower than that in the wrist group( P <0.05).Conclusion:Ultrasound-guided radial artery catheterization at the the middle forearm takes lesstime,the success rate the first puncture is high,the average puncturetimes are few and the incidence complicationsis low.
