Abstract：“Color discrimination grading”is an important wayto identifyandevaluate thequalityofChinese medicinal materials.Inviewoftheproblemsofqualitydiference，varietyconfusionabuseandmisuse，andpoorefcacyofChiese medicinal materials in the curent market circulationand clinical medication，this papersummarizes andanalyzes various factorsaffecting thecolorandqualityofChinese medicinalmaterialsbyconsultingtheliterature.Theimportantapplications of electronicnose technology，machine vision technology，color spacemodeland neuralnetwork technology incolordetection andrecognitionoftraditionalChinesemedicinearereviewedindetail.Therefore，thetheoreticalbasisof“colordiscrimiation grading”is furtherconsolidated，andthenew technologiesand methodsof“colordiscriminationgrading”areexplored， providingideasforthecolorqualitymaintenance，qualityevaluationandclassificationofChinesemedicinalmaterials，and the implementation and technical selection of processing process control.
