Research on the Transformation of Knowledge Sharing Roles among Long-Tail Users in Open Innovation Communities

Abstract： Dynamically identifying the behavioral characteristics of long-tail users and accelerating their transformation into active user roles are important measures to promote the sustainable development of open innovation communities.A two-stage clustering method was employed to identify and track the transformation of long-tail users into active users. Grounded theory was also used to explore the dynamic transformation paths of long-tail users.The study found that： First，the results of two-stage clustering showed that although the vast majority of long-tail users remained in a low-activity state，8. 8% of long-tail users successfully transformed into high-activity users， including core users，lead users，and social users. Second，through grounded theory，four driving paths for the transformation of long-tail users into active users were identified： community support services， brand image appeal， community social fit，and social role identification. These paths reflect the diversity and differences in the transformation paths of long-tail users. Third，the transformation of long-tail users into active users is not simply the result of demand motivation，but a comprehensive manifestation of the interaction and mutual promotion among cognition，emotion，and behavior.
