Average value model of capacitive rectifier system of pulsed HIA considering influence of armature winding resistance

Abstract:The existing average-value model for pulsed capacitor charging power supply based on homopolar inductor alternator (HIA) neglects influence of the armature winding resistance,which may lead to a large error in the simulation results.Considering the influence of armature winding resistance in the calculation of commutation angle and average current,as well as in the state equation,and the simulation error of armature winding resistance under different consideration was analyzed and compared,and the relationship between the resistance value and the simulation eror was also analyzed. The results show that the simulation error is minimum when the resistance of armature winding is considered in the calculation of commutation angle,average current and state equation, considering the influence of armature winding resistance only in the calculation of commutation angle and average current,the error is the biggest,and neglecting the influence of armature winding resistance in the calculation of commutation angle and average current will make the simulation value of charging current smaller,but neglecting the influence of armature winding resistance in the state equation will make the simulation value of charging current larger. The higher the resistance value is,the greater the simulation eror is.Finally,the conclusion was verified by experiment.For the prototype system, when considering influence of armature winding resistance,the simulation eror of the average model of charging voltage and charging time decrease dramatically.
