Fault-tolerant control for current sensor faults in permanent magnet synchronous motor

Abstract :Permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system has a wide range of applications in industry. However,factors such as vibration shock,environmental changes and equipment aging easily lead to motor current sensor failure,which inevitably reduces the system control accuracy. A current sensor fault tolerant control strategy based on an improved equivalent input disturbance (EID)method was presented. Firstly,a system model containing current sensor faults was established,a linear filter was introduced to transform the sensor faults into equivalent actuator faults of the augmented system,and the system model was described by the EID of its input.Secondly,the EID of the system was estimated byan improved sliding mode observer. Finally,the observer gains were automatically adjusted using intellgent fuzzy logic rules to improve the estimation accuracy of the EID,and the estimated value was compensated to the control input to reduce the effect of the fault on the output.Simulation and experimental results show that the presented method effectively suppresses the effct of current sensor faults and improves the control accuracy of the motor.
