Ecological Adaptability EvaluationofNewSetaria italiea Varieties in Ningxia

Abstract:ThisstudyaimstoscreenouthighqualitySetariaitalievarietiessuitableforplantinginthearidznofcentralNngxia and provideareferenceforeficientcultivationandvarietypromotionofSetariaitaliea.Tenintroduced Setaria italieavarieties weretestedfortheirecologicaladaptabilityinWuyuanVilage,HaiyuanCountyThemainagronomictraits,qualityindicators,and economic traits werecomparedamong diferent Setaria italiea varieties.Theprincipal componentanalysis (PCA)was performed forcomprehensiveevaluation.Theresultsshowedthatdifferentvarietiesvariedgreatlyinbiomass,yield,andmineralcontent, demonstrating highdiversity.ThePCAresults showed that topthree Setaria italiea varietiesinthecomprehensiveranking were 'Changsheng 13',Dajinmiao',and'Chifengguzi',whichcanbepromotedand plantedinthisregionasthe major promotedariety. These three varietieshad the highest yields,which were5293.5,4 461,and 4 252.5kg/hm2 ,respectively.'Changsheng13'had the highestgrainweightperpanicle,dietaryfbercontent,andironcontent.Dajinmiao'hadhigherplants,single-panicleweight,straw weight,and iron content.'Chifengguzi' had the highest single-panicle weight and vitamin B2 content and higher grain weight per panicle,energydstarchcontent.Consideringqualityidicators,Zangzagu13nggu9'andanggul'avedality and are recommended for cultivation with the major varieties promoted.
