Abstract:[Purposes] This paper aims to investigate the mechanical performance of the steel plateconcrete composite wall of the prefabricated underground grain silo with a new circumferential joint. [Methods] Taking a prefabricated steel plate-concrete underground grain silo in southern Henan as the research object,the changes in earth pressure on the silo wall during backfilling,the stress changes of the inner lining steel plate,joint steel plate,circumferential reinforcement and vertical reinforcement underdifferent backfilling conditions were measured,and the mechanical performance of the composite wall was analyzed.[Findings] The results show that the test earth pressure is greater than the active earth pressure and the static earth pressure but less than the passive earth pressure.The new circumferential joint has an impact on the circumferential stress of the inner lining steel plate and the circumferential reinforcement.The stress of the inner lining steel plate is greater than that at the joint steel plate,and the stress of the inner lining steel plate andthe circumferential reinforcement is larger in the middle and smalleron bothsides along the circumferential direction.The vertical reinforcement is subjected to less force in the middle along the height direction of the silo wall.[Conclusions] The overall mechanical performance of the composite wall is good.The middle part of the inner lining steel plate and the circumferential reinforcement ina single prefabricated block is subjected to greater force,so itis recommended to strengthen support measures in the structural design.
