Calculation and Application of Transformer CapacityBased on Economic Load Factor

Abstract: [Purposes] In the design of power system, transformer capacity selection and number calculation is a very important content.At present,the calculation of transformer capacity does not consider the actual operating conditions,and only the optimal eficiency is used to calculate the load rate.Therefore,a transformer capacity calculation method based on economic load rate is proposed.[Methods] Based on the best effciency,a method of obtaining the economic load rate of a single transformer by considering the load characteristics and operating conditions of the maximum load loss hours and daily load loss is proposed,and the critical power for the economic operation and switching of multiple transformers of the same capacity with dual-winding is derived.The process is complete and the conclusion is accurate,and is suitable for the calculation of transformer capacity and number of 1OkV transformers.[Findings] Through an engineering example, the critical power for the economic operation and switching of multiple transformers of the same capacity with dual-winding is calculated by using the daily load loss,and accurate economic selection resultsare obtained.[Conclusions] The feasibility and promotability of economic load ratecalculation of transformer capacity in practiceare verified,and theoretical and practical references are provided for the selection design of 1 0 k V transformers in future engineering.
