Effects of Orchard Grass Cover on Soil Physicochemical Properties and Organic Carbon Storage in the Loess Plateau Arid Areas

Abstract:Thisstudyexploredtheeffectsoforchardgrasscoveronsoilfertityandarbonsequestrationpotential,providing theoreticalsupportforecologicalmanagementoforchardsinthearidareaoftheLoessPlateau.Usingcleantilageasacontro,the impactsoftwouliaonodesaturalgassorandVulpimuosplantingonsoilicocemicalpropertisandranibon storage inappleorchardsweredetermined.Resultsshowedthatbothnatural grasscoverand Vulpiamyurosplanting significantly improvediltrs,rlyeasngttsficaeotalrog,kalrolbleglbe phosphorus,andavailablepotassiumintheOto2cmtopsoil.Meanwhile,bothtreatmentsenhancedsoilorganicarbonstorageand carbonequestatiacityilelvaigrognlatioforltgrothecialluralsoerakd soilorganiccarbonstorageithe10to20cmlayer,whereas Vulpia myurosplantingsignificantlyincreasedorganiccarbonstoragein the O to 1O cm layer and available phosphorus content in the O to 2O cm layer.
