Breeding Report on the New Drought-resistant and High-yield Spring Wheat VarietyLongchun 45

Abstract：Drought-resistant，disease-resistant，andhigh-yielding varietiesarethekey to sustainable developmentof spring wheatproductionincentralGansuaridandsemi-aidareaandsimilarecologicalareasAnewdrylandspringwheatvariety，Longcun 45，wassuccesfullybred.Thiswasachievedthroughsexual hybrd-breeding，usingGanchun2OasthefemaleparentandLongchun 27asthemaleparent，withtheaplicationofpedigreemethod.Inthe2O2Oto2O21regionalexperimentofdrylandspringwheatin Gansu Province，the average yield of Longchun 45 reached 3 220.28 kg/ha，which was 5.41% higher than that of the control variety， Xihan2.Inthe2O22productionexperimentofdrylandspringwheatinGansuProvince，itsaverageyieldwas2634.6Okg/ha， showing an 11.50% increasecompared to Xihan2.The growth periodof this variety is1O1days.It hasaplant height of91.1 cm， withanaverageof35.6grainsperspikeandathousand-grain weightof43.3g.Ithasagrainbulkdensityof8O2g/L，contains 160.4g/kgcrudeprotein（onadrybasis），850g/kgwetgluten，andhasadoughwaterabsorptionof 623mL/kg，adoughfoation timeof3.3minutes，andstabilizationimeof2.1minutes.Moreover，ithasmoderateresistancetosriperustandpowderymilde， alongwithgooddroughtresistanceandlodgingresistane.ItiswellsuitedforcultivationinthedrylandspringwheatareasofGansu Province and regions with similar ecological conditions.
