Study on the Selection of Suitable Grafting Rootstock Varieties for the Protected Cultivation of White Cucumbers in the Dry Plateau Areas of Longdong

Abstract：Inorder to screensuitablegrafting rotstocks forprotectedcultivationof whitecucumbers inthedryplateauarea ofLongdong，acomparativeexperimentwasconductedinearlyspringusing thelocalmainvarietyGanfengxiuyuself-rooted sedlingsascontrol，andthreeintroducedrootstocksincudingJapaneseP1XP2pumpkinF，Boqiang2B，andHeiqiang.Results showedthattherootstockBoqiangO5Bhadthebstoverallperformanceingaftingcompatibilityandfruitutritionalqualitywile therootstock Heiqiangshowedrelativelygoodperformanceinbothaspects.Whitecucumbers graftedontothe3rootstocksexhibited superiorqualityandhigheryieldcomparedwithselfrotedcontrolplants.Amongthem，Boqiang2O5Bgraftedwhitecucumber achieved the highestaverageyield of 71 268.52kg/ha，representing a 26.05% increase compared with the self-rooted control Ganfengxiuyu. White cucumbers grafted onto Japanese P1XP2 pumpkin F1 and Heiqiang also showed higher yields，increasingby 14.57% and 7.73% over the control，respectively.In conclusion，Boqiang 2O5B exhibited strong grafting afinity，produced white cucumberswithuperiorutioalqualityndgheryield，andiscucumberspeialiedotstock.erefore，itiscoded thatgraftedsedlingsusingBoqiang2O5Basthemainrootstockbeadoptedandfurtherpromotedinprotectedcultivationofwhite cucumber in the dry plateau areas of Longdong.
