Effects of Intercropping with Different Maize Varieties on the AgronomicTraitandYield

Abstract: Inorder to provideabasis for the widespread promotionof theimprovementof maize yield through intercropping ofdiferentvaietiesofaizeinBiineaanexperimentaldemonstrationascaedoutinXiaouan Villge,Baojowsip, PingchuanDistrict,BaiyinCityandtheexperimentalvarietieswereJinsui915(JS915),Denghai6O5(DH6O5)andXianu1225 (XY1225),whichwerewidelypopularzedinBaiinreaandteefectsofintercroppngofferentvarietisofmazeoagomic traitsandyieldsrecompaedthrough3varietisof2:2:intereropping,1:1:intercroppingandmoocultureResultsshowdtat the yield of Jinsui 1915 and Xianyu 1225 varieties in 2:2:2 intercropping were 14.54% and 11.22% higher than that of monoculture, respectively,but the yield of Denghai 605 was 9.51% and 16.79% lower than that of monoculture after intercropping at 2:2:2 and 1: 1:1 ,respectively,which may bedue to theshort growth periodof Denghai 6O5.Thedistribution of canopystructure in the 2:2:2 intercroppingmodewasmoreationalat tepopulationlevel,whichcouldimprovetheutilizationateoflightnergyandprootete growth of 3 maize varieties.Therefore,when increasing the yield through 2:2:2 intercropping or 1:1:1 intercropping with diffrent maizevarieties,itisadvisable tochoose maize varieties withconsistentgrowth periodsandadoptthe2:2:2 planting pattern.
